Broome Holiday Weather Overview
Found in Western Australia in the Kimberley region to the north of Perth. Broome is primarily a pearling town and a popular tourist destination. Broome was established in 1883 and has an underwater telegraph cable to Singapore that was laid to connect England to Singapore. Where the telegraph cable met the land in Broome is where Cable Beach is situated and also why the beach has that name.

Food in Broome
When it comes to dining in Broome there are a wide variety of different cuisines to tempt you taste buds and due to the Asian influences in the town, there are some extremely good Japanese restaurants that you can visit.
Azuki Japanese Fusion is a restaurant that combines the cuisine of Australia and Japan for very reasonable prices, dishes ranging between £7 - £10. However if you are more interested in a wider selection of food or enjoy good tapas than 18 Degrees offers a very broad menu that focus around the tapas ideal with prices starting at £5 for a dish and going up to around £16.
If however you are looking for a more formal dining experience then the Club Restaurant at the Cable Beach Resort is well worth seeking out. The menu is mostly Italian in style, the high classic decoration inside creates a fantastic fine dining atmosphere. There is even a patio or veranda you can dine on if you want to enjoy the weather or even watch the sunset over Cable Beach whilst you eat.
Things to do in Broome
One of the most unique things to Broome is the annual festival, Shinju Matsuri, the Japanese Festival of the Pearl in which residents celebrate the influence of the Asian culture that has been present in Broome due to the existence of the pearling industry.
There is also the Japanese Cemetry, the SSJG Heritage Centre, the Buddha Sanctuary and the Sacred Heart Church that all highlight the different elements of culture that have all become drawn together in Broome.
If you are looking for something less culturally based and more scenic there are the Horizontal Falls, the beautiful Cable Beach, the Staircase to the Moon, Gantheaume Point and Broome Crocodile Park which you can visit along with the Broome Bird Observatory and Willie Creek.
Best month to visit Broome
Visiting Broome between May and October is the most advisable as there is a lower risk of experiencing wet weather, thunderstorms, flooding and cyclones. The weather is still warm and sunny so you can experience the warmer weather. Nearly all of Broome’s attractions are also open during the dry season due to the lack of bad weather. If you do choose to visit Broome during the wet season, many attractions are closed due to risks to patrons.
Broome has a tropical climate which means the summer is hot and humid whilst the winters are warm and mild. Rather being defined by spring, summer, autumn and winter, Broome is best described as having a dry season and a wet season.
The dry season occurs between May and October and the wet season between November and April with the most rainfall on average falling between January and March. During the wet season there is not constant rainfall in Broome but instead short, heavy downpours that occur in the afternoon and evening.

The drier season with warm temperatures that range between 20 and 30 degrees Celsius is the winter period. This spans from May until October and has the lowest levels of humidity the tropical climate of Broome experiences.
What to wear in Broome?
Broome is hot all year round so heavy winter clothing such as jumpers and trousers are unnecessary to bring. Shorts, t-shirts and beachwear however are essential. If you are staying at a hotel or resort it is best to check before hand if they have a dress code that you need to adhere to.
With temperatures being high, sunhats and caps are advisable along with high factor sun protection. Due to the heavy downpours in the wet season, waterproof ponchos are recommended, however due to the risk of thunderstorms, umbrellas are not.
