Ascot features some great examples of church architecture. Several Church of England parish churches feature red brick, Gothic revival structures from the late 1800s from some prestigious British architects. Thorpe Park
Around 10 miles away via the A329 is Thorpe Park, one of the UK’s largest theme parks. Featuring over 30 rides, attractions and live events all year round. Thorpe park is a popular tourist attraction for families and thrill seekers alike, and is best enjoyed on sunny days throughout the summer.
Windsor Great Park
Ascot is also close to the Windsor Great Park. Maintained by the crown estate, the 4800 acre park features a substantial lake and waterfall as well as visitor centres open to the public. Windsor Great Park is great for runners, walkers and everyone who loves green outdoor spaces.
What to pack for a visit to Ascot
Summers in Ascot are fairly warm on average so pack accordingly, through autumn and winter jumpers and raincoats are advised, and it always helps to pack an umbrella.
If you are planning on heading to the horse racing it is advisable to bring your best dress. The Royal Ascot horse races have a strict dress code, formal wear is required for many of the racecourses enclosures.
