What to do on rainy days in Bridlington

East Riding Leisure Bridlington

For families looking to have some fun in the water, East Riding Leisure Bridlington features a splash zone fun pool with water play features including interactive slides, water jets and tipping buckets, as well as climbing walls to promote healthy play. The centre also features a full 25 metre swimming pool with learner pool for swimmers, gym facilities including sports halls and a health suite complete with jacuzzi, sauna and steam room to kick back and relax in.

Bridlington Harbour Heritage Museum

For fans of British maritime history, Bridlington Harbour Heritage Museum is a must see. Located on the doorstep of Bridlington harbour, the museum features a wealth of nautical artefacts, historic photographs and harbour history models including the main attraction, the ‘three brothers’ sailing coble, built and restored in Bridlington which is believed to be the only surviving example of a sailing coble left in the country.

Bayle Museum

The Bayle Museum is housed in the 12th century Bayle gate and has seen many uses over the years, including a prison, court, schoolroom, garrison and meeting room for the Lords Feoffees. However, today it is home to the Bayle Museum and a collection of articles and artifacts from local history.

North & South Beach

Bridlington’s north and south beaches are ideal for relaxing and taking in the views of the boats passing by. Close by are many traditional seaside shops and attractions, as well as restaurants serving selections of fresh seafood brought in to the harbour daily. 

Ideal for fun family days out, bring your bucket and spade to build sandcastles or hunt for shells and crabs from the various rock pools dotted around. 

Bridlington Old Town

Follow the old town trail through the streets of Bridlington to visit some of the town's historic highlights. Art galleries and tearooms sit beside olde worlde pubs and antique shops, for fans of old English culture and architecture Bridlington is a must visit.

Flamborough Head

Follow the coast north and you’ll reach the smaller village of Flamborough. Flamborough Head marks a stretch of rugged white cliffs overlooking the sea, a haven for nature enthusiasts as the head features a scenic nature reserve that is ideal for bird watching and hiking along the many paths. Look closely and you’ll see puffins nest along the Head during May and June, before heading out to see in August. Look out for the two ancient lighthouses that sit atop the cliffs.
