Oia Holiday Weather Overview
Oia is a small town on the northwestern edge of the island of Santorini, in the Aegean Ocean. Extremely scenic and beautiful, the town is noted for its traditional white Cyclaidic houses and cave houses, and its whitewashed churches with blue domes. Set high on a cliff top, the town is also known for its dramatic views and spectacular sunsets.
Oia's Climate
Oia, like the rest of Santorini, has a temperate climate with mild winters and hot, dry summers. The sea is warm enough for swimming all year round, but the tourist peak is definitely in the summer months.
Oia in the Spring
Spring is warm in Oia - in March, average daily highs of 16°C lead to highs in May of around 22°C. Nights can be a little cooler, so you'll want to take a shawl or a lightweight jacket, but generally speaking the days are clear, blue and sunny - perfect weather for sightseeing.

Oia in Summer
Oia's narrow, twisting streets can become very crowded in the summer, as tourists throng to see the town's beautiful buildings. It's hot too - average daily highs range from 26°C in June to 30°C in August, and occasional heat waves can push the temperatures much higher than this.
Night time temperatures are a sultry 20-23°C, which is perfect for outdoor dining. It's a very dry heat, so not as uncomfortable as elsewhere in the world where there may be higher humidity.
If you're visiting Oia in the summer, take sunscreen, a hat and sunglasses, and very lightweight summer clothing. Good, sensible shoes are needed if you hope to explore the rocky coastline.
Oia in Autumn
September can be one of the best months to visit Oia, as the weather is still gorgeous, with daily highs in the high 20s Celsius, but most of the crowds will have gone. October and November are cooler months, with temperatures of around 22°C and 18°C respectively, and some restaurants and other tourist stops will start to close down for the season in November.
Oia in Winter
Very few tourists visit Oia in the winter, so it's very quiet. Mild temperatures of around 14-16°C are usual, with overnight lows of around 10°C. It can be windy, however, and this is the wettest season in Oia, with rainy days and grey skies inevitable at some point. If you don't like crowds, this can be the perfect season to explore Oia and Santorini, but bear in mind that some tourist outlets will be closed.
Winter can also bring some transport difficulties, as ferries to and from the island will be operating on a much reduced service. The best advice is to research thoroughly before visiting in winter, to make sure you will be able to do what you want to do.
