El Jadida Holiday Weather Overview
El Jadida is a chic seaside destination in Morocco, not far from Casablanca. The city has a well to do air, helped by the nearby five star resort. Long, sandy beaches and upscale shops and restaurants attract many visitors from within Morocco and further afield.
Although it's the beaches and the nightlife which are the primary attractions in El Jadida, the city does have some interesting historical sites too. The old fortified Portuguese medina is now a UNESCO World Heritage site, and there are also a variety of churches and old buildings to explore.
El Jadida's Climate
El Jadida has a mild, Mediterranean climate, which makes it a pleasant place to visit at any time of year. Hot summers are tempered by cool Atlantic breezes, so the city rarely becomes as hot as some other parts of Morocco. There is just enough rainfall, year round, but virtually none during the summer months.
El Jadida in Spring
Spring is a good time to visit El Jadida if you want to avoid the summer crowds. Average daily highs reach 19°C already in March, rising slowly to around 23°C in May. Spring weather is usually sunny and clear, although sometimes a little windy. Spring showers are frequent, but very short in duration and strength.
If you're visiting El Jadida in the spring, remember that night time temperatures are considerably cooler than those during the day. In March, overnight lows can dip to 10°C, which will feel chilly, so take layered clothing and a shawl or light jacket.
El Jadida in Summer
Summer is the peak tourism season in El Jadida, as crowds flock to the beaches and the bars. Average daily highs in June reach 24°C, rising to 27°C in August. Overnight lows are a balmy 19 or 20°C, which is perfect for outdoor dining. There is next to no rain during the summer months in El Jadida, so don't bother taking an umbrella. Instead, pack sunglasses, sunscreen and lightweight summer clothing. A hat would be helpful too, especially as occasional heat waves can send the temperatures into the mid to high 30s Celsius.
Expect the beaches to be crowded at this time of year, but on the plus side, it's an excellent time for people watching, especially during the early evening promenades.
El Jadida in Autumn
Autumn comes slowly to El Jadida - in September, average daily highs are still touching 25°C, and this will have only fallen to 20°C in November. Nights start to chill more rapidly though, and can feel cool from late September onwards. By November, overnight lows will hover at around 10°C, so you'll need something with long sleeves.
After the dry summer, autumn rainfall is welcome. These showers can be heavy, but they rarely last long.
El Jadida in Winter
El Jadida's winter months are mild. Average daily highs of 18-19°C persist through the winter, although overnight lows can dip to around 8°C. Winter is the wettest time of year, and there can be some heavier and prolonged spells or rain. It still only amounts to around 2 inches a month, however, so although you can take an umbrella, the rain is not likely to hinder your enjoyment of a winter sun break in El Jadida.
