Tangier Holiday Weather Overview
Once an impoverished and neglected city and a hub for international espionage, Tangier has re-invented itself over the course of the last generation. This city on Morocco's northern coast is now a very modern destination where Mediterranean chic meets ancient Arab style.

Tangier has a Mediterranean climate, with surprisingly high levels of rainfall for North Africa - this is due in part to its exposed position where the Straits of Gibraltar meet the Atlantic Ocean. Long, hot summers give way to very mild winters.

Spring is a good time to visit Tangier is you want to avoid the summer crowds. Spring comes early to the city, with average highs in March already reaching 18°C, which will rise to around 22°C in May. Night time temperatures in spring range between 10 and 13°C which can still feel a little chilly - take a shawl or something with long sleeves for the spring evenings.
March and April can be rather wet, with rain at least every couple of days, so you might want to pack an umbrella too. By May, however, the rain has died down significantly.
Tangier in Summer
The summer months are the peak tourists months in Tangier, and the city's main attractions become very busy at this time, as does the beach. In June, July and August, you can expect average daily highs of 26-28°C, with temperatures often climbing into the 30s Celsius. Summer nights are pleasant at around 17-18°C.
There is very little rainfall in the summer compared to the rest of the year, but you may still catch the odd summer shower.
Tangier in the Autumn
Summer fades slowly in Tangier, and September is a very warm month with average highs of 27°C - although it does begin to rain more as September grows older.
By October and November, temperatures will start to fall more noticeably, down to around 20°C in November, with overnight lows of 12°C. November is the wettest month in the year, so you will want to take a waterproof jacket with you if you're visiting Tangier at this time.
Tangier in the Winter
Tangier is very quiet in the winter months, but if you choose to visit in December, January or February you will enjoy an authentic experience. It's very mild, with average daily highs still in the high teens. Overnight lows can feel chilly, however, especially if your hotel doesn't have heating (many don't). Expect some rain and take an umbrella with you.
