San Miguel de Allende is a fascinating and quirky city situated in central Mexico. Infamous for the part it played in the Mexican War of Independence, it takes part of its name from having been the birthplace of Ignacio Allende.

San Miguel has a temperate, semi-arid climate. There is little rainfall for most of the year, although summer is the wettest season. Winters can be cold at night, and summers are moderately hot. Spring is actually the hottest part of the year, but can be dusty.
