Knysna Holiday Weather Overview
Knysna is a pretty town in the Western Cape area of South Africa. It lies along the famous Garden Route, and is renowned for its biodiversity and natural beauty. Tourism is becoming increasingly important in Knysna, and it's particularly popular with golfers as the town has not one but three world class golf courses.

In common with other towns along the Garden Route, Knysna has a very mild climate. Winters rarely get particularly cold, and it's not too hot in the summer either, making the town a perfect year round destination.

It's still quite wet, however, and on average you can expect some rain on every other day or so, with November being the wettest month in the year.
Summer is a popular time for visiting the elephant and monkey sanctuaries, although parts of the town can be quite crowded during this peak season.
Knysna in the Autumn
Autumn is a great time to visit Knysna. The leaves change colour and the sea becomes a little stormier, making for some very spectacular seascapes. Between February and April you can expect average daily highs of 23°C but the nights do begin to get chillier as the season progresses.
Knysna in the Winter
Most of Knysna's big events take place during the winter months, between May and July. The famous oyster festival occurs in late June or early July, and so does the Rastafarian earth festival. The winter weather in Knysna is drier than at other times of the year, and still very mild, with daily temperatures of around 20°C. Winter nights can be as low as a chilly feeling 7°C, so take a lightweight jacket and some long sleeves.
